Candle Info:

Why soy wax?

We choose to work with soy wax because we love that it's a 100% renewable resource and is carbon neutral. Soy wax burns cleaner and for a longer period of time than paraffin wax. Soy candles are safe for you, your kids, your pets & the environment since they are natural and non-toxic. Our soy wax is sustainably sourced and supports farmers in the USA.

 

What are your top candle care tips?

Always be mindful to burn candles within sight. Do not fall asleep, or leave a candle unattended or in reach of small children, pets, or a draft. 

Candles have memory! So for your first burn, and each one after, allow the melted pool of wax to reach the edges of the container before extinguishing. This will allow the candle to burn evenly and prevent "tunneling”.

For a clean and soot-free burn, trim the wick each time to 1/4 inch before lighting, using a wick trimmer, scissors or even a nail clipper.

We recommend a maximum burn time of 3-4 hours. Never burn your candle on top of the lid, burn on stable surfaces only. Allow the container to cool completely before handling.

 

My candle has some frosting, is this ok?

All 100% natural soy wax candles will frost to some degree, so this is normal and to be expected. The white coating that appears in your soy wax candles is a natural effect of using vegetable waxes, especially soy. This will not affect the performance of your candle.

 

Are your fragrances phthalate-free?

Yes! All our fragrances are phthalate-free. Phthalates are a group of chemical plasticizers commonly used in cosmetics, bath products, cleaning supplies, etc. There has been links of high levels of phthalates to health issues, especially respiratory problems. While there are no regulations against phthalate use in candles, we will not work with fragrances that contain phthalates. You can consciously enjoy our candles knowing they are have zero toxins, so are safe for you and the environment.

  

Do you use essential oils in your candles?

We use blends of high-quality fragrance oils and essential oils in our candles. While fragrance oils tend to give off more scent than essential oils alone, we do offer pure essential oil candles for a completely natural plant-based scent. The essential oils candles are all part of the Good Life Collection. 

 

Can the container be repurposed?

Yes, please! Discontinue use of your candle when a 1/4 inch of wax remains at the bottom. Place your candle in the freezer, with the lid on, and leave it overnight. Once it hardens, the wax and wick can easily be chipped out. If there is more than a little bit of wax left, we recommend the "oven method" of placing your candle in a warm oven and allowing the remaining wax to liquify. Compost whatever wax is left and wipe container clean. Soap and water can be used to remove any wax residue, just be sure to not allow any wax to go down the sink! Ideas to repurpose afterwards: hold your pens, plant a succulent, keep your q-tips or cotton pads in them, start a little piggy-bank, or recycle!

Can I track my order?

You will receive an email with tracking information once your order has shipped. If for some reason you did not receive this information, please let us know at aliceandsageco@gmail.com and we will send it to you.

 

Can I pick up my order?

We offer free curbside pickup from our studio in Abbotsford,BC. Just select local pickup when you order and we will be in touch with pickup details. 

 

Are your packing materials eco-friendly too?

Every aspect from the recycled labels, paper bags and cardboard shipping boxes, to the bubble wrap, and compostable packing peanuts are eco-friendly. We take extra care to ensure your package is protected while in transit, but also choose shipping materials that are kind to the earth. 

  

Do you offer exchanges or returns?

We are not able to offer exchanges or returns at this time. However, we always want our customers to be happy, so if you receive your package, and it is damaged or does not meet your needs for any reason, please contact us immediately upon receiving your order at aliceandsageco@gmail.com and we will do our very best to resolve any issues.

 

Can I send a candle as a gift?

Of course! How sweet of you! If you would like to send something as a gift, just make a note at checkout that it’s a gift, and we can include a hand-written card for them!

 

Do you ship internationally?

At this time we offer shipping within Canada and the United States.

 

Do you offer wholesale orders?

Yes! We offer wholesale orders to retailers within Canada. If you think our candles would be a great fit in your shop, send an email to aliceandsageco@gmail.com with your shop name and info and we will be in touch. :) 

 

What about custom orders?

We do make custom orders as well. If you're wanting a particular scent and style for your business, wedding, or special event, or whatever the case may be, just send an email to aliceandsageco@gmail.com with some brief details of what you had in mind and we will see what we can create for you!
